Hello, I'm Shea
I am a product designer, strategist, and researcher with over 7 years of experience leading product design initiatives in the public sector.
Designing for the government means solving complex challenges within rigid constraints—balancing accessibility, security, and scalability for millions of users. If I can make federal loan systems feel human, I can make any product feel effortless.

Public Service Loan Forgiveness
Led a 3 year initiative to transform the PSLF experience to empower public servants with clearer paths to loan forgiveness. Our efforts resulted in a 12% increase in customer satisfaction, despite being released alongside unpopular policy changes to the program.

StudentAid.gov Revamp
An ambitious project aimed at empowering student loan borrowers to make informed decisions about their student loans. We unified 7 legacy websites into one enterprise system, redesigned over 35 features, conducted 355 usability tests, and developed a comprehensive design system.

DocWizard
I was the sole designer on an initiative to design a tool that takes the guesswork out of writing government procurement documents. Think TurboTax + Microsoft Forms, but for generating legal documents.

Little Things I am Proud of
A collection of smaller projects that showcase my work but aren't detailed enough for a full case study.
